Travel: Southwestern Road Trip

In July, 2012, my family took a trip to the Southwestern States. This was one of my favourite trips. We flew into Las Vegas and stayed a couple nights at South Point Hotel/Equestrian Centre. This hotel has a four-star rating and the rooms are very spacious and clean. South Point has a casino (of course, it is Vegas after all), bowling, its own movie theatre, spa and restaurant. It is not right on the strip, but it only takes a couple minutes to get there from the hotel. The link to their website is listed below:

We then rented a car and spent approximately a week on a road trip through Arizona and Utah. We traveled down Route 66, making stops at Grand Canyon National Park, Meteor Crater, Sedona, Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park.

We concluded the trip with a couple nights in Vegas. This time we stayed on the main strip at the Circus Circus hotel. This hotel is one of the more family-friendly options with an indoor amusement park, shops and restaurants. We were also able to see The Beatles LOVE: Cirque Du Soleil at the Mirage hotel. Links for the Mirage, Circus Circus and the show are also included:

Vegas was certainly an experience and if I were to go again, I would probably spend my time going to more shows. Just the drive through the Southwestern States alone is one of the most beautiful and scenic experiences. Pictures included below.
