The Joggins Fossil Cliffs are now classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to my great-grandfather who is a world-renowned fossil collector at the age of 94. He began collecting when he was 9 years old and now holds the largest collection of coal age fossils in the world, some are displayed at the Joggins Fossil Institute/Museum. He has always cared so much for his community and is always thinking of ways to get the town of Joggins off its feet. This October, he is being awarded the Order of Nova Scotia, the highest honour anyone can receive at the provincial level. The family is super proud of him, but most of all we love him for his positive spirit, the kind, caring, humble person that he is.
